NGC Plan
t America Blue and Gold Star Memorial Beautification program started
November 17, 2025, and was completed February 17, 2026. This was in collaboration
with Keep America Beautiful (KAB). Over 230 applications were received, with 91 grants
awarded (many did not complete the application). A little over $64,000 funds were
endowed and several clubs are working with KAB or their state affiliate. The Blue/Gold
Stars markers should be beautiful and very patriotic on July 4th. Three Virginia Clubs
were given grant funds: they are Luray/Hill and Valley, Monticello, and Cedar Run, all
Shenandoah District. Congratulations to the three clubs.
The Plan
t America Grant program has given awards to NGC member clubs since 2017.
More than 250 grants have been awarded, totaling more the $390,000. Over 30 were
awarded last year. Grants are given in amounts up to $2000. The map below shows all
the states that have received grants (the darker colored state has received the most
funds).

unfortunately is quite low, but not
the lowest. Some states have never
won a grant or applied. I would
highly encourage Virginia to apply
for awards. The application for this
year will be available on the NGC
website in May/June (the updated
version). I will gladly assist any club
with this process.

t r NGC mission with Plant America is to support and enhance communities
nationwide. For a limited time, thanks to a generous donor, your support made
through the "Double the Impact" donation will be matched (up to $50,000). The goal
is close: clubs, districts, individuals should consider donating to this wonder grant
program to support Plant America and keep us growing.
