x Garden Club — A Busy Summer

x Garden Club had a full summer of
community involvement. In May, members
participated in "Kids to Parks Adventure Day" at
Dannelly Park, an entry point to the New River
Trail. Children chose seeds to plant and learned
how to care for them — inspiring future gardeners.
The Gala
une, the club celebrated National Garden
Week with an educational visit to Beagle Ridge
Lavender Farm. July brought a civic beautification
project: members pressure-washed, repaired, and
repainted the city park gazebo just in time to
decorate it for July 4th and the nation's 250th
birthday.

wie Garden Club continues to be a
cornerstone of their community. This spring, their
fourth annual plant class ran March through May,
with participants starting over 50 plants and
making garden signs, kokedamas, and bee
houses.
The Chilho
r butter fly garden at Town Hall and raised
park garden (pictured) are thriving, and their
Community Garden — producing vegetables and
herbs all season — donates its harvest to the local
Food Pantry. This fall, the club will design and
offer bouquets for the Chilhowie Apple Festival
Beauty Pageant contestants and host a craft fair
during the Christmas Extravaganza. The town of
Chilhowie provides dedicated club space and
ongoing financial support — a true partnership.
